Thank you for visiting our web site. Do you get your electricity from an electric cooperative or municipal power company? Are you concerned about the cost of electricity for your home or business? If so, you’ll want to join other Alaska electric consumers who want to know more about electric utility issues and are participating in People Power Alaska.

More than 90 percent of Alaskans receive electricity from either a cooperative or a municipal (publicly-owned) utility. Both types of utilities are non-profit and owned by the consumers they serve. Rising fuel costs, shrinking gas reserves and increasing regulations by state and federal agencies are some of the primary reasons causing rates to rise for consumers, which is a real concern.

The mission of People Power Alaska is to educate and encourage grassroots contact by customers of Alaska consumer-owned utilities with elected officials to influence legislation, rates, and regulation affecting electricity costs for those customers. So what are you waiting for?

Join other consumers and fight for your right to affordable power!
